Becoming A Coach
I have always been good at listening.
Like most of us socialized as girls I was taught to be polite, smile, and be “nice.”
I was contemplative and daydreamy anyway so I liked to get lost in thought and also to hear people’s stories.
With all the being quiet and waiting to see what was okay in my environment I heard so many stories and every once in a while I would share something back.
I know I’m making myself sound shy, but I wasn’t, I just asked a lot of questions. I still do.
It wasn’t until I turned 30 that I realized the depth of value in the space I was able to hold for people.
I continually had people share things with me after conversations of “you inspired me to___” and “Because of what you said I decided to ____ and it feels so good.” I was inspiring others with my own boldness and conversation, simply by holding space for them.
It was 2020 when I decided to become a Life Coach.
I looked through so many training options, but so many of them
did not feel right.
I’m queer, unfiltered, neuro-spicy (as my friend Audra says),
and opinionated about equality.
When I landed on The Beautiful You Life Coaching Course Site
my entire heart sang.
I had looked at programs that seemed like MLM’s, programs that seemed so Bro-ey it made me nauseous, and Programs that were so basic I could have applied to teach and amend the curriculum myself.
Beautiful You immediately leads from the heart, made known and evident their inclusion and intentions around social justice.
Honestly, signing up was one of those moments where with my whole body singing and leaning in and desiring, I understood on a full body what it meant to feel the fear and move through it because the loudness of my desire.
I knew this was for me.
